Three militants killed in north Kashmir

Srinagar Jun 19 (UNI) Security forces gunned down three militants in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir district of Kupwara, a senior police officer said tonight.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kupwara, Vijay Kumar said a search operation was launched by police and Army at Sona Pindi area this afternoon following a tip-off about the presence of militants.

He said during the operation three militants were killed.

The operation was still going on when the reports last came in.
