Polling for by-election to one Rajya sabha seat on June 26
Patna, Jun 19 (UNI) Polling for the by-election to one Rajya Sabha seat from Bihar would be held on June 26 as two candidates remained in the fray in the closing hours of the last day for withdrawal of nomination papers.
The seat from Bihar had fallen vacant after the termination of Rajya Sabha membership of former union minister Capt Jai Narain Nishad who had defected to RJD from BJP despite being elected to Rajya Sabha on BJP ticket.
State Assembly secretary-cum-returning officer Surendra Prasad Sharma informed that two candidates--former union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudi(BJP) and Shiv Shankar Prasad Nishad(Independent) are in the fray for the Rajya Sabha seat.
Polling would be held from 09:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs on June 26.
