HC asks police not to take coercive steps against PMCH junior docs
Patna, Jun 19 (UNI) Patna High Court today directed the police not to take any coercive steps against the junior doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), allegedly involved in manhandling photo journalists in the medical college a few days back till the pendency of their bail petitions.
Justice Shiva Kirti Singh gave the directive on hearing the bail petitions moved by six erring junior doctors of the PMCH.
Justice Singh also ordered the Patna police to place case diary before the court.
The six doctors, involved in moving the bail petition are-- Dr Anil Kumar, Dr Anand Kumar, Dr Sanjeet Kumar Agrawal, Dr Arun Kumar Das, Dr Vinod Kumar Paswan and Dr Sukhdev.
A case was earlier lodged at Pirbahor police station alleging that the doctors had manhandled the photo journalist few days back when they were taking photographs of the patients undergoing treatment in the PMCH.
In a separate case, Justice Shailesh Kumar Sinha issued similar directive to the police in connection with a case pertaining to alleged negligence against three doctors of PMCH during treatment of a patient leading to his death. The doctors facing the charge of negligence in treatment are-- Dr Mohammad Azhar Hassan, Dr Mohammad Anaytullah and Dr Sanjay Kumar.
