Alliance with JD(S) on LS polls with High Command: Cong
Bangalore, June 19 (UNI) Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge today said an alliance with the Janata Dal (Secular) for the coming Lok Sabha Elections will depend on the High Command's decision.
When his attention was drawn to a statement earlier in the day by Former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda to the effect the 'alliance' between his party and Congress would continue for LS election also, Mr Kharge said ''the alliance was only for Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council election and its continuation depends on the situation and decision of the High Command.
''We allied for this election since we did not want the ruling party to take advantage.A similar understanding was reached during earlier elections also. This does not mean it is permanent,'' he added.
