Training workshop for artists held

Chandigarh, Jun 18 (UNI) Chandigarh Regional Centre of Song and Drama Division, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, organized a one-day Training Workshop for troupe leaders of privately registered artists from Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir here today.

The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the artists for providing wide publicity on various themes and welfare schemes of the Government of India like Bharat Nirman, National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Total Sanitation Campaign, Right to Information Act etc.

As many as 118 artists from the region participated in the workshop which was inaugurated by Mrs Kanchan Prasad, Director, Press Information Bureau, Northern Region.

Various troupes presented their theme-based stage performances in the Workshop.
