Team to probe giant fissure in farm

Gwalior, June 18 (UNI) A team of experts has been sent to probe a 100-m-long and 1-m-deep fissure formed in the earth near this district's Sakhni village, official sources said today.

''Geology and Mining Department and local engineering colleges' specialists were sent in the farms where the farm cracked,'' Collector Akash Tripathi told UNI here today.

The farm-owner Janaki Prasad Sharma observed the fissure yesterday.

Later, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anil Vyas and Tahsildar D D Sharma visited the spot and informed the collector.

Mr Tripathi asked the team to submit the report soon.

This district and nearby areas have been receiving intermittent overnight rain.
