Six arrested for fake land deal
Nashik, Jun 18 (UNI) Six people were arrested by the city police in connection with a fake land deal case here.
According to police sources, seven people -- Dilip Sathe, Iqbal Sheikh, Sayyad Nizamuddin, Dattatray Shinde, Dr Liyakat Namwale, Amrutlal Shah and Balu Matale -- had made fake documents of 2,100 acre land in Dhakambe, Shivnai and Varvandi villages in Dindori taluka of the district. These included Power of Attorney letters also.
These people came in contact with Nandkishore Sonawane, a builder from Kamtwade area of the city here. In a meeting held between them here yesterday, Sonawane came to know that the documents produced by these people about the sell of the land were fake, as it included documents of the land about which he himself had a deal.
Following this, Mr Sonawane informed the police about these people.
Ambad police yesterday arrested six of them, whereas Balu Matale is absconding.
A case has been registered under sections 420, 468, 471, 511 and 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and further investigations are on, sources added.
