Rain elude city for 2nd day, sultry conditions continue

New Delhi, Jun 18 (UNI) For the second day today rains continued to elude Delhi, after early onset of monsoon in the city on Sunday.

Though Delhiites woke up to another cloudy sky, the dry spell persisted in the city for the second consecutive day and with the clouds being interspersed with periods of sunlight, the sultry conditions prevailed.

The minimum was recorded at 25.6 degree Celsius.

The dry spell was likely to continue for the next few days with weathermen forecasting only light rains in the city during the next 24 hours.

After Delhi received 32 mm of rainfall on Sunday when monsoon hit the city two weeks earlier than schedule, the city has received 13 mm of rainfall in the last two days. The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi in the next 24 hours with light rain in some areas.
