PMK advocates resign

Chennai, Jun 18 (UNI) An additional government pleader and four government advocates belonging to the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) today resigned from their posts, after the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) snapped ties with the party.

Additional government pleader K Balu and government advocates P Kathirvel, V Gobhi Raja, M R Jothimanian and M K T Gopu submitted their resignations to government pleader Raja Kallifullah following the political development.

The advocates, in their resignation letters, said they do not want to represent the DMK government anymore in view of the snapping of ties between the two parties.

They were appointed as government advocates in May 2006, after the DMK came to power in alliance with PMK and other parties.
