PMC dissolves office-bearers

Puducherry, Jun 18 (UNI) The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) today dissolved the local committee to appoint new office-bearers.

Party spokesperson and legislator K Lakshminarayanan, informing this to reporters at a press conference here, said the decision to remove all office-bearers except party president P Kannan, was taken based on the previous constituency setup.

The new office-bearers would be appointed shortly on the basis of the delimitation of constituencies, he said.

Preference would be given to youth and women in view of the emergent political situation and also due to the impending Lok Sabha elections, he added.
