Pirated CDs, DVDs, cash worth Rs 86.24 lakh seized; 2 held
Rajkot, Jun 18 (UNI) In a major raid, the Economy Cell of Gandhinagar CID police and local Crime Branch police staff seized huge stocks of pirated Compact Discs (CDs), DVDs and cash, worth around Rs 86.24 lakh and arrested two people in this connection here.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided three godowns of Vardhman Electronics and Govinda Electronics at City Centre Complex of Dhebar road and seized huge stocks of Hindi, Gujarati and pornographic film CDs and DVDs during the raids, which was carried out till late last evening. They also seized copier machine, computer, printer and other equipments that were used for pirating.
Besides this, police also recovered cash worth Rs 1.24 lakh from the raids and arrested Dhiren Mehta and Ravi Rathod in this connection.
