One held with fake passport

Kochi, Jun 18 (UNI) A traveller with a forged passport was nabbed at the Kochi International Airport here today.

Emigration personnel arrested Sherafudeen (36) of Padikkara in Thrissur when he arrived at the airport by a Gulf Air flight from Dubai, official sources said.

He was possessing the Passport of Mr Murukesan of Kumbala in Kasargod after merely replacing his photograph on the passport.

However, Sherafudden reportedly had left to Dubai from Kozhikode Airport with his original passport about two months back.

As his sponsor hesitated to return his passport, Sherafudeen was forced to go for a fake passport, the sources said.

Later, he was handed over to Chengamanad police.
