Noted educationist and social worker Prof Mufti died in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 18 (UNI) Noted educationist, social worker and play writer Prof Shamla Mufti passed away here today.

She was 80.

Born on November 23, 1928, she completed her MA in persian from Aligrah Muslim University (AMU) in 1955. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has expressed profound grief over her demise.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled Mufti's contribution in the field of education in Jammu and Kashmir and said she would be remembered for long by her students, friends and colleagues.

He paid rich tributes to the late lady and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Several other leaders and educationists also expressed their condolence on her death.
