NCP decides to contest Pale assembly constituency in Goa
Panaji, Jun 18 (UNI) Goa NCP has decided to contest the Pale assembly seat that fell vacant following the demise of Congress incumbant, Gurudas Gauns, recently.
The party president Dr Wilfred D'Souza had conveyed the decision to the party high command Sharad Pawar, sources said.
The NCP, a coalition partner in the Congress-led government here, is confident of winning the seat and increase its strength to four.
The NCP is part of the coalition group of six legislators, which include two MGP members and one independent. One of the MGP members is transport minister and the independent is health minister in the 12-member state cabinet, while NCP has two members.
