The additives were tried on a car of the one of the employee of the company and found to have excellent results, he said.
Mr Rajamani said that the company was also working on used cooking oil as raw material in the production of biodiesel. Physical and chemical properties as per petro diesel specifications including storage stability tests with 0.1 per cent blend of biodiesel.
The fish oil was abundantly available in all coastal regions which found to be a good source of biodiesel and tests were found satisfactory and further research was in progress, he said adding that apart from edible oil sources, non-edible oils like rubber seed oil was also being explored to produce biodiesel.
He said that Daxina Kannada and southern parts of Karnataka have large areas of rubber cultivation and rubber seed oil remained potential source for biodiesel and laboratories trials for the same were under progress.
