Khanduri Ministry reshuffle likely tomorrow

Dehra Dun, June 18 (UNI) A major reshuffle of the Khanduri Council of Ministers is likely to take place tomorrow.

Interestingly, this would be the second time that changes would be incurred in the one-and-a-half year B C Khanduri government after Minister of State Ajay Tamta was elevated to Cabinet rank by the Chief Minister yesterday.

According to sources, senior party leaders have been exerting pressure on the Chief Minister for necessitating a reshuffle ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Mr Tamta's elevation was also seen as a strategic move to woo scheduled tribe voters ahead of the elections.

Another major reason was the poor performance of most Ministers which had caused embarrassment for the BJP led government, thus prompting the possible move, sources added.
