Do not draw parallel between SASB and Muslim Waqf board CPI(M)

Srinagar, Jun 18 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (M) today criticised the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Arun Kumar for attempting to draw as parallel between the SASB and Muslim Waqf Board.

In a statement here today the state secretary of the CPI(M) Mohammad Yousuf Targami said the statement at a press conference by Mr Kumar had only compounded confusion over the transfer of 800 kanal forest land to SASB.

He said Mr Kumar was just a government official but had over-stepped his brief.

Mr Kumar had unnecessarily meddled in the affairs beyond his jurisdiction, Mr Targami said adding a public servant was is governed by a set of conduct rules.

The contents of the entire conference bore of contempt for the locals, he said adding the fact that the cheek to undermine the authority of the elected government had should not go unnoticed.

Mr Targami demanded review of the transfer of forest land to SASB.

Almost all separatist, militants and several mainstream parties had protested against the land transfer.
