BJP dubs TDP core committee as ''delay tactics''
Hyderabad, Jun 18 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today dismissed as ''mere delay tactics'' the formation of a five-member core committee on Telangana by the main Opposition Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters here, BJP Telangana Udhyama Committee Chairman Ch Vidyasagar Rao contended that the TDP had constituted the core committee only to ''buy time'' and silence the party leaders, expressing divergent views on the issue.
Claiming that both the ruling Congress and the TDP were ''insincere'' on the creation of a Telangana state out of Andhra Pradesh, Mr Rao felt TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu's statement that his party was not against the statehood for Telangana was only made to reap political mileage in the recent byelections.
