Bihar hasn't sent fund utilisation certificate to Centre: Raghuvansh

Patna, Jun 18 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today said the Bihar government had not sent utilisation certificate of the flood management fund to the Centre for 2007.

In a letter to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Mr Singh said the Centre had provided Rs 233.23 crore this year to Bihar despite non-submission of utilisation certificate to the Centre by the state government for 2007.

A high level Central team had approved Rs 745.26 crore as assistance to the Bihar government but it could have been sanctioned only after the utilisation of funds available against CRF head, he added.

Mr Singh pointed out that Rs 1264 crore was available against the CRF fund and further assistance could not be provided to the Bihar government unless it was spent in accordance with the norms.

He alleged that the Chief Minister was leveling baseless charges against the Centre about non-assistance to the state in flood relief works.
