Bharti Airtel, Pacnet join to enhance connectivity

Bangalore, Jun 18 (UNI) Bharti Airtel, leading telecom services provider, today announced that it has entered into an Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) agreement with Pacnet to interconnect their respective networks, expanding connections to and from India.

Under the agreement, the two companies would directly interconnect their network infrastructure to expand respective Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)-based IP VPN (Internet Protocol virtual private network) capabilities and to provide advanced IP solutions to key business customers in the region.

Airtel's India expertise coupled with Pacnet's international capability will enable us to provide integrated communications solutions to satisfy requirements for quality, value, consistency and reliability.'' Pacnet CEO Bill Barney said at ''as we continue to see high growth in enterprise communication requirements to and from India, we are pleased to team up with Bharti Airtel in delivering seamless connectivity to our customers. This partnership will help strengthen our reach across all major business markets within India as well as provide customers with industry-leading communication solutions.'' Following the signing of the NNI, Airtel and Pacnet also announced a special 'Gateway to India' offering for high capacity International Private Line circuits between the United States and India.
