Works on Metro, Mono Rail to begin by Dec: MP

Mysore, June 17 (UNI) Lok Sabha Member from Mysore C H Vijayashankar today disclosed the work on the ambitious Metro and Mono Rail in Mysore City will begin by December.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said the outlay would be finalised by Railways and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) authorities reviewing with the local administration the increase in population and vehicle density in the last two years.

A final decision would be taken on establishing four KSRTC depots, each with a minimum of eight bus stands around them, in four different directions of the city.

Work on the long pending ring road in the city would be completed soon, he added.
