UK warns of terror attacks in UAE
Dubai, Jun 17 (UNI) The British Embassy today warned that the UAE has ''high threat of terrorism'' and raised its terror warning to the highest level for its citizens living here.
The British government posted the warning on the embassy site.
''We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the UAE. Attacks could be indiscriminate and could happen at any time,'' it said.
It is for the first time that such a warning has been given on UAE.
Though al Qaeda terrorists have attacked targets in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, UAE has remained peaceful.
The embassy alert warned that possible targets include spots popular with expatriates and foreign travellers such as residential compounds, as well as ''military, oil, transport and aviation interests.'' However, there was no official reaction so far.
