TDP panel to decide modalities

Hyderabad, Jun 17 (UNI) The five-member core committee on Telangana constituted by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will meet at Devupalli, near Gajapathinagaram in Vizianagarm District tomorrow, to decide on the modalities for eliciting the views on statehood for Telangana.

The meeting was being held in Vizianagaram Distrcit to coincide with the 150-day Meekosam Yatra of TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu to know the problems of the people and work towards resolving them, TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy told reporters.

Ahead of the meeting, the party had issued a show cause notice to a senior TDP leader from Telangana, Mr G Sukinder Reddy, an associate of TDP Legislature Party Deputy Leader T Devender Goud.

Mr Goud had underscored the need for the party taking an early decision on the issue to improve its prospects in the 2009 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
