Tata Power subsidiary NDPL puts India on world power sector map

Kolkata, Jun 17 (UNI) The Tata Power Company Limited, India's largest private power company, today announced that its subsidiary North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL), a JV between Tata Power Co Ltd and the Government of NCT of Delhi, has become the first power distribution utility from the country to have received the Edison Award.

The award was presented to NDPL in recognition of its operational excellence in electric industry for innovatively utilising and integrating its Geographical Information System (GIS) with other applications for network planning, operation, commercial and asset management.

The prestigious award is given annually by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) to honour both international and US electric companies for outstanding contributions to the advancement of the power industry.
