Stray dog bites off boy's thumb

Gulbarga, Karnataka, Jun 17 (UNI) A stray dog today mauled a 15-year-old-boy and bit off his thumb at Nadhina Colony here today.

Police said Gafur Mia, who was walking on the street was attacked by a stray dog which lacerated him all over the body and bit off his thumb even as bystanders watched with horror.

They rescued the boy from the dog and shifted him to private hospital along with the piece of his finger.

Doctors said the boy was out of danger.

Irate people chased and killed the dog which had bitten nearly 15 people during the last 24 hours.

After receiving information, corporation dog catchers squad got into the act and started catching stray dogs.
