Minister praises media for spreading green awareness
Kochi, June 17 (UNI) Kerala Forest and Wildlife Minister Binoy Viswam today praised the efforts of media in raising environmental awareness among the public.
Addressing a gathering after planting saplings as part of the 40th anniversary of the Ernakulam Press Club here, Mr Viswam said as many as 51 lakh saplings were planted in various parts of the State in the last two years.
'' On June ten, a record 25 lakh saplings were planted by school and college students,'' he noted.
He said the environmental projects, meant to make the state greener, were a success with the active participation of the public.
