Govt will not cover up Padmapriya issue: Minister

Bangalore, Jun 17: Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya today said the government had no intention to shield anyone or cover up the investigation related to suicide by Padmapriya, wife of BJP Udupi MLA Raghupathy Bhat, in New Delhi on Sunday.

Replying to queries by newsmen here he denied that there were attempts to mislead the media and the public with regard to dissemination of news of whereabouts of Padmapriya. "We tried our best to get her safely back and give a happy ending to the whole episode. Unfortunately it ended up in suicide. A thorough enquiry would be held in this regard and the guilty would be punished according to the law," he assured.
