Journalists suspend stir in Manipur
Imphal, June 17 (UNI) No newspapers were published in Manipur for the second consecutive day today following a stir launched by the All Manipur Working Journalists Union(AMWJU).
However, the AMWJU stated that the journalists decided to resume their duties from today in public interest.
The union stated that since the past few days, the journalists had been facing pressure from the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (MC) over the issue of publication of news articles related to the outfit of dire consquences.
The suspected militants threatened the journalists of the state which led to their decision to suspend all activities.
