Srinagar, Jun 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (Retd) S K Sinha today described as misleading propaganda unleashed by some people with vested interests about permanent structures being raised by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).
''Despite repeated clarifications that no permanent structure has been raised, an orchestrated campaign continues to vitiate the atmosphere,'' the Governor, who is also the Chairman of the Board, said while discussing the yatra arrangements with officers at Sheshnagh, Chandanwari and Pahalga.
Besides both factions of the Hurriyat Conference, several religious, political and other social organisations have protested transfer of 800 of forest land to SASB.
The Governor said ever since the Board took over charge of managing the yatra; special measures were initiated and improved with every passing year to ensure health and hygiene in camping sites and en route to the Cave Shrine keeping in view the environmental requirements.
