Govt officials held while accepting bribe

Bangalore, Jun 17 (UNI) Sleuths of the Karnataka Lok Ayukta today arrested two officials of the Commercial Tax Department of Chintamani while accepting bribe for showing an official favour.

According to a Lok Ayukta release here, CTO Officer Dorai allegedly demanded Rs one lakh from M/s Indian Madras Motor Proprietor S Raghvendra for not booking a case against him.

However, after a stiff bargaining, Dorai agreed to accept Rs 25,000.

But Raghavendra, who was not willing to pay the money, approached the Lok Ayukta, who laid a trap and caught Dorai and CTO Inspector Rajanna red-handed.
