Banned crops over 200 kanals destroyed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jun 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police in its continued drive against the smuggling, destroyed banned crops over 200 kanals of land in south Kashmir, official sources said today.
They said police with the help of Excise department conducted a raid in Melhora village in Pulwama district following a tip off that some farmers and cultivated banned crops.
During the raid, police and Excise officials destroyed cannabis cultivated over 200 kanals of land.
A case had been registered against the owners of the land, they said, adding drive against cultivated of banned crops in south Kashmir would continue.
So far police had destroyed banned crops over thousands of kanals of land in the districts Pulwama and Anantnag during the past one year.
