What's Atul Rao's role in Padmapriya's death?

New Delhi, June 16: The Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya has said that autopsy results show Padmapriya, wife of a BJP MLA, Raghupathi Bhat from Karnataka had committed suicide. She was found hanging from a flat in Delhi on Sunday night after she went missing from her husband's house in Udupi on June 10.

However Raghupathi Bhat alleged that his wife committed suicide because of his childhood friend Atul Rao."It was a suicide. I have no doubts about it. Family friend Atul Rao is responsible for it and he brought her to Delhi," Bhat said. Thirty-five year-old Padmapriya who had been missing for the past five days, was found dead in Delhi on Sunday. Padmapriya's body was found in hanging in an apartment in Dwarka in southwest Delhi on Sunday. The body was taken to Delhi"s Safdarjung Hospital on Monday and the body was later taken to AIIMS for embalming so that it could be flown to Udupi for last rites.

Padmapriya is said to have left her Udupi house to go to her parents' house, 30 kilometers away, on June 10. However, the fact that she had gone missing came to light only on June 13 morning after her car was found abandoned near Kunjargiri hills in Udupi district. A SIM card and broken bangles were recovered from the car, the Karnataka police had said earlier.

The residents of the apartment where Padmapriya's body was discovered claim that she had been living there for the past ten days. They also say she used to visit the flat regularly.
