Udupi MLA's wife Padmapriya found dead in Delhi

Bangalore, Jun 16: BJP MLA Raghupathi Bhat's wife who went missing was found dead in a an apartment in Delhi on Sunday. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan hook in the Dwarka apartment when a team of police from Karnataka and Delhi broke open the door at around 6:15 pm. The police claim she had committed suicide.

But the initial reports suggest that she could have been poisoned. Padmapriya had left Udupi on June 10 for her parent's home in Karnad, when she went missing. Padmapriya's car was found abandoned off the Udupi-Mangalore highway with her keys, cash, mobile and jewellery still inside it. Padmapriya's body was taken to the capital's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital from where it was later shifted to Safdarjang Hospital. The post-mortem will be conducted on Monday morning. BJP MLA Raghupathi Bhat, 39, was re-elected from the Udupi constituency in the state assembly election last month. The couple has two sons.
