Police recover arms from a militant hideout in J-K
Bhadarwah (J-K), June 16 : Security forces busted a militant hideout and recovered arms and ammunitions in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda District.
On the basis of a tip off, the police launched a joint operation and cordoned off the Jangalwar forest area.
The security forces found a natural cave in which the militants had dumped their arms and eatables but the militants escaped from the spot before they could be nabbed.
"We had received a tip off about the movement of the militants in that area. We had conducted search operation but the militants moved towards the Jangalwar forest area. We had sent a team led by sub-inspector Shiva Krishan accompanied by 26 Rashtriya Rifles people. After the intensive search operation in the area, they found the militant hideout, " said T.R.Katoch, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bhadarwah.
Security has been stepped up in Jammu and Kashmir following reports that militants are becoming more active in the state in an attempt to discourage people from participating state polls due for later this year.
