No newspaper published in Manipur today

Imphal, Jun 16 (UNI) No newspaper was published in Manipur today following a stir by the All Manipur Working Journalists Union (AMWJU) to protest threats from militants.

The AMWJU said journalists were being pressurised by militants not to publish certain articles in the papers.

The local cable networks had also suspended broadcasting news channels in the state due to the threats.

The union will hold a meeting on the issue later today.
