Ethanol price fixed at Rs 21.50 per litre

Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora has agreed to fix price of ethanol at Rs 21.50 per litre, following a request by Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Mr Deshmukh had requested Mr Deora to fix good rates for ethanol that is being produced at cooperative sugar factories in the state.

Earlier, ethanol price was in the range of Rs 19.50 to Rs 20.50.

Mr Deora has said that efforts are also on to increase the percentage of ethanol mixed in petrol, from five to ten per cent, according to a release.
