Congress demands CBI inquiry into Ms Padmapriya's death
Bangalore, Jun 16 (UNI) Opposition Leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Mallikarjuna Kharge today demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the alleged suicide by Ms Padmapriya, wife of BJP Legislator Raghupathy Bhatt in New Delhi on June 15.
Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Kharge said that mystery shrouded over the disappearance and subsequent alleged suicide by Padmapriya.
The KPCC President charged that right from the beginning after reports of the missing State police, including Home Minister V S Acharya, had been giving misleading statements leading to lot of suspicioon.
Mr Kharge recalled that Mr Acharya had said that police have located the missing person and bringing her to home safely, which however proved to be wrong.
Expressing concern over the tragic death of Padmapriya, the Congress leader demanded CBI inquiry into the entire episode of the alleged suicidal death as state police have failed completely in giving protection to Legislator's wife.
