CM inaugurates 'Yatri Niwas' for Amarnath pilgrims
Jammu, Jun 16 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today inaugurated 'Yatri Niwas', constructed at a cost of Rs 4.91 crore, which will provide a major facility for the Amarnath pilgrims in the winter capital city.
The 'Yatri Niwas', a three-storey building, would serve as the base camp in Jammu for Amarnath pilgrims during 'yatra' period and also for the pilgrims of Vaishno Devi shrine.
The building comprises 15 halls with a total capacity of 1,800 people.
The administrative block will house a J&K Bank's branch and ATM, travel centre to be manned by SRTC, police post, medical aid centre with four beds and ICU with doctors to be available round-the-clock during 'yatra' period. Besides, a BSNL communication centre with STD and internet facilities, fair price shop and tourist information centre, will also form part of the block.
