Woman commits suicide in Dwarka; believed to be wife of Kr BJP MLA

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman -- believed to be the wife of a BJP MLA from Karnataka -- committed suicide in sector 10 of Dwarka this evening.

The deceased is believed to be Padmapriya, wife of Karnataka BJP MLA Raghupaty Bhat. While senior officials were so far tight-lipped, officials said the body has been identified to be that of Padmapriya.

Dwarka police received a call that a woman was found hanging from the celing fan of a lodge in Saba Apartments in sector 10. Later, the deceased was identified as the wife of the BJP legislator from Udipi.

She went missing from her house on June 11. Earlier today, the Karnataka government had claimed that she was somewhere in Karnataka itself.

An official at Karnataka Bhawan here said came to know about the incident through media. ''Final confirmation is to be made by the police,'' said a BJP leader of Delhi unit.

Police said the Karnataka MLA is expected here late tonight to confirm the identity of the woman.
