RPI to stage Rasta Roko tomorrow

Mumbai, Jun 15 (UNI) Republican Party of India (RPI) will stage 'Rasta Roko' tomorrow at Metro Cinema junction in south Mumbai to protest hike in prices of petroleum products and inflation.

District Vice-President Nandu Bansode said here today, ''We have decided to stage 'Rasta Roko' at 1430 hrs to protest hike in petrol price and uptrend in inflation.

More than 100 party workers are expected to take part in it and they will also display ply cards demanding 'reduce petrol, Diesel and Gas price with immediate effect otherwise vacate the chair'.

The Central Government had recently increased the prices of petroleum products due to crude oil prices hike at the International Market.

Inflation had also reached to 8.75 per cent yesterday.

Mr Bansode said due to hike in petroleum products the prices of essential commodities are skyrocketing which in turn is resulting in the financial burden on common man.
