Raje-Gujjar talks likely to resume on Monday

Pilupura (Rajasthan), June 15 : The expected talks between the Rajasthan government and Gujjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla is likely to place on June 15.

Bainsla was expected to come to Jaipur today to participate in the talks between the four member Gujjar delegation and the State government but he refused to come to Jaipur later saying that his participation will depend on the State government's response to the fresh suggestions given by them.

This development followed a briefing at Pilupura by the four member delegation on the outcome of its two days of deliberations with the state government. The team later left for Jaipur to convey the views of the Gujjar leadership to the government's proposals.

The delegation members also met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ramdas Agarwal in Jaipur. Agarwal and Gujjar leader Masood Chaudhary later told reporters that it has been decided that Colonel Bainsla will come to Jaipur on Monday to participate in the talks.

Meanwhile, on the 24th day of the agitation Col. Bainsla is still camping on the railway tracks at Pilupura on the Delhi-Mumbai rail route.

Protesting Gujjars have been demanding scheduled tribes (ST) status for the community.

The agitation has crippled road transport and normal life in and around many parts of the State
