Naxals kill young man in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Jun 15 (UNI) Suspected naxalites killed a young man in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, police said today.

A group of 40 to 50 armed naxalites stormed into the house of Anandrai Sainu Koram (22) in village Murgaon in Dhanora tehsil of the district late last night. After dragging Anandrai and his wife Sapna alias Vanita (20) outside the house, the outlaws tied him and beat him up with sticks, police sources said.

Later, the naxalites, who were from Chatgaon Dalam and two other Dalams, threatened the villagers that if anybody tried to intervene, they would be killed, sources said.

The outlaws slit Anandrai's throat with a sharp weapon just before midnight, killing him on the spot. They then fled into the jungle, taking advantage of the darkness, the sources added.
