K'taka BJP MLA's wife found hanging in Dwarka apartment

New Delhi, Jun 15 (UNI) Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party legislator B Raghupathy Bhat's wife Padmapriya, who went missing on June 11, was today found dead in an apartment in sector 10 in Dwarka in south-west Delhi, a senior Delhi Police official confirmed.

The official said prima facie it appeared to be a case of suicide.

Dwarka police had received a call in the day that a woman was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a lodge in Saba Apartments. On breaking open the door of the lodge, police recovered her body.

The identity of deceased was initially not known, but she was believed to be the 35-year-old wife of the BJP legislator from Udipi.

Though senior officials were earlier tightlipped regarding the incident, after some verification they established her identity.

On the other hand, the Karnataka government had claimed that she was somewhere in the state itself.

An official at Karnataka Bhawan here said they came to know about the incident through the media.
