GJM calls indefinite Darjeeling Bandh

{image-gorkha movement_15062008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Darjeeling/Siliguri, Jun 15: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) today gave fresh indefinite bandh call in Darjeeling hills from 1800 hours tomorrow demanding separate statehood.

GJM's spokesman Binoy Tamang told UNI that the decision to sponsor indefinite strike and intensify the statehood demand was taken here this afternoon at a party meeting chaired by president Bimal Gurung. The GJM had called indefinite bandh on June 9, but relaxed the strike for 60 hours from Wednesday evening to facilitate exodus of tourists from the hills. The relaxation was extended till tomorrow evening, Mr Tamang said.
