Former TN Assembly Marshal V Madhivanan passes away
Chennai, Jun 15 (UNI) Former Tamil Nadu Assembly Marshal V Madhivanan died of a heart attack here this afternoon.
He was 59 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.
Mr Madhivanan, who had served the State Assembly for 39 years became Marshal of the House in 2000-01 and had served under late Speakers P T R Palanivelrana, K Kalimuthu and the present speaker R Avudaiappan.
He retired as Marshal in October 2006.
Couple of months before he retired, Mr Madhivanan incurred the wrath of Leader of the Opposition and AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa when he asked her to move out when she was talking to newspersons in the Assembly lobby.
Always a smiling person, Mr Madhivanan had the distinction of serving both in DMK and AIADMK regimes.
