C'garh Govt to build parallel transmission line in Abujhmaad
Korba, Chhattisgarh, Jun 15 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh government would build a parallel electricity transmission line in the 100-km-long naxalite-hit stretch at Abujhmad in Bastar, Chief Minister Raman Singh said here today.
''Naxalites are playing havoc with the 100-km-long stretch of electricity line, running through Abujhmaad of Bastar,'' Dr Singh said, while addressing a press conference on the sidelines of the fourth phase of his 'Chhattisgarh Vikas Yatra' here.
The government has decided to build a parallel transmission line at a cost of Rs 38 crore for which tender has already been issued.
He said naxals have been exposed by mass killing and extortion and they were no longer champions of leftist ideology and revolution, adding that they are an open threat to not only Bastar but the whole nation and the democracy.
