Car fumes cause child coughs

London, Jun 15 (UNI) Children living near a main road are more prone to coughing attacks, new research states.

The study tested around 2,900 four-year-olds and a group of more than 3,000 six-year-olds to reveal that those living within 50 yards of a busy road were fifty per cent more likely to develop asthma, eczema and hay fever.

The research published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine stated that dust, tyre and diesel engine particles did not only trigger allergies but actually caused them.
