AP CM approves reservation for disabled in Secretariat posts
Hyderabad, Jun 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today approved provision of reservation to people with all three types of disablilities in direct recruitment for the posts of Asst Section Officers, Senior Stenos, Junior Stenos, Typist-cum- Assistants and Telephone Operators in the Secretariat.
According to an official release here, the Chief Minister had cleared the file as proposed by the G A (Services B and SU II) and WD, CW and Disabled Welfare Departments to provide reservations to people with disabilities like blindness or low vision, hearing impairment and cerebral palsy, specifying the scale of disability for each category instead of applying for Orthopeadically Handicapped persons only.
Accordingly, an amendment to Rule five of the State Secretariat Subordinate Service Rules would be notified shortly, the release added.
