AICC issues showcause notice to Congress leader

Hyderabad, Jun 15 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) today issued a showcause notice to senior Congress leader and former minister and Telangana Regional Development Board Chairman U Purushottam Reddy.

According to the party sources, the party high command, while issuing notice to Mr Reddy for not supporting the Congress in the just-concluded byelection had asked him to reply to the notice.

Menawhile, Mr Reddy told newspersons that he did not received any notice from the party.

He said he was not responsible for the defeat of the Congress in the byelection.

The Congress candidate from Aleru Assembly seat had complained to the party high command that Mr Reddy was responsible for the defeat of Congress in the byelection and urged the high command to take action against him.
