National Kabaddi player held with banned drug
Ludhiana, June 14 (UNI) Sleuths of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested a National level Kabaddi player and three of his associate and recovered Exctasy and Catamine tablets from their possession in Delhi today.
According to DRI Joint Director Dheeraj Rastogi (Ludhiana), Punjab Police Head Constable Rattan Singh a Kabaddi player and his three associate were intercapted by a DRI team when they entered Delhi in a car. The four were coming from Jaipur side.
Mr Rastogi said that on search their car Exctasy tablets weighing 60 kg and Catamine tablets weighing 150 kg was recovered from their vehicle.
Mr Rastogi said that the combined value of these banned drug was round Rs Two crore.
Beside Rattam Singh the other persons taken into custody were a NRI Arvinder Singh and the driver and another person travelling in the car. They were all arrested under NDPS act.
Mr Rastogi said that another DRI team recovered Rs Twelve lakh from the house of Rattan Singh in Sangrur in Punjab. He said that other investigation are being conducted in the case.
The raid in Delhi was carried out by a joint team of the Ludhiana and Delhi Directorates.
